34 weeks

These weeks seem to be flying by.. And stressing me out b/c nothing is ready. haha! I have to laugh so I don't cry. Hubby is still working on staining my toddler's twin bed and hopefully we'll get the mattress by the weekend. Baby sister will be in a pack and play in our room until she sleeps through the night. I think I want to get the pack and play set up by the weekend, just to ease my mind. lol
I have 2 showers coming up. My sister is throwing one on the 9th, I cannot wait!!! And my friend is throwing another shower the following weekend. I'm so excited to celebrate baby sister!

Baby sister has been very active.. Last night my belly was lopsided, so I poked the higher side and she moved. lol I have no idea how she's laying at this point b/c she moves around a lot. I love it! I think that's what I'll miss the most. You know, I am the nut that loves being pregnant. This pregnancy has just flown by, I'm nervous about having 2 kids, but so excited to meet my little troublemaker. She's also been either elbowing me or kneeing me.. It kinda hurts, but funny at the same time. It'll poke out so I poke back :)

Thankfully the contractions seem to have stopped. I get real bad ones, but sporadic, if I over do it. SO I'm taking it easy, cleaning up slowly and not forcing myself to do things like I was before. The heartburn seems to be getting worse, so I may call my doc and ask for a prescription b/c tums is doing nothing.

Nothing else is going on, just continuing to be in awe at how close to the end we are. Still praying we make it to August, which seeing as how I've been doing better, I can see it happening. I know July will fly by so hopefully we'll get everything done and ready for her arrival.

My sister is throwing me a baby shower in 2 weeks. I'm SO excited. I love the theme and colors she picked, which she picked for me b/c those are my colors.. It's zebra print/ pink. so cute! So she went on etsy to look for invitations and found this amazing shop. She shared with me and it's an amazing shop. I have the invitations in my hand and they are beautiful!!! Absolutely worth the money. Babyfreshdesigns has baby birth announcements, shower invitations, wedding invitations, save the date and so much more! Check it out and be ready to see many cute things!

playroom

When we found out we were expecting a girl, we decided to have our girls share a room. The 3rd bedroom in our house is the office and being that I have a lot of sewing supplies, ribbons and such, and my husband has tons of books and art supplies, we decided that there was no way that we could put all our stuff anywhere else. SO I told my husband, the girls can share a room, but I'll need a separate space for toys. Thankfully our old (built in 1933) house has a sunroom, which this past week has been turned into a playroom. My daughter LOVES it. It's so cute. There's still some work to be done to it, mainly decorations. Plus the table I really want to get pictured in the last post. But right now it's functional and we're really enjoying it.

I did put up sheer drapes on the windows, the room has 9 windows and I wanted them covered. Then when we went to Michael's I found this cute pennant banner on clearance for only $1.99.. I thought it looked so cute up there! :)
When the room is all done I'll post more pictures.

33 weeks

Well here I am, 33 weeks and counting. I can't believe I'm so close to the end. How crazy!!! We are anxious to meet our girl, praying she stays put till she's full term though. We still have 7 weeks to go and it's bittersweet to me. I LOVE being pregnant (I know some women out there think I'm crazy), and I'll miss it once she's here. BUT the reward at the end of the pregnancy will be too awesome for me to be sad about no longer being preggo. lol I am enjoying every minute of it, enjoying every kick and punch. Even with all the weird contractions, pain and discomfort, I will miss these days for sure. lol

Last night as I went to bed, I had a bit of a freak out second. Life will change in August, I'll be a mother of 2. And life with a newborn is exhausting. I'm terrified of how it'll be w/ a newborn and a toddler. I'm hoping this baby will be a good sleeper. :) This mama turns into the hulk when I don't get 8 hours of sleep. :) I know my sleep will be limited once baby comes. Again, it'll all be worth it. And my toddler is such a good helper, I know we'll have rough days, but we can all snuggle up on the couch on the days I'm exhausted. lol

Eating has been hard these days. Ever since last Monday when I came home from the hospital, my appetite has changed. NOTHING sounds good to eat, I have to force myself to eat (or my hubby lovingly makes me eat) and most of the stuff makes me sick. This past weekend I had a calzone, oh my word I was miserable afterwards... So I'm being careful with what I choose to eat. Water and gatorade are my new BFF's. :) I always feel so dehydrated, so I'm making sure I drink a lot, don't want to end up back in the hospital. Tums is also my BFF. lol

Other than water I crave nothing. As I said, eating is hard these days. I don't even crave chocolate, can you believe that!? lol

We are slowly getting the house ready. This week we finally got the playroom put together. There are a few things I need to get, I want to get a table/chair set for the room, I found one that I love on amazon (in the picture). And some minor decorative things, but other than that the room is functional and my daughter is loving it. My hubby is working on staining my daughter's "new" twin bed so that we can get their room set up. I'm so excited to see 2 beds in that room :) It'll all come together. I want to pack my hospital bag in the next week or so and possibly get the pack and play set up. I'm not sure how early is too early to set up the pack and play. We never really used it w/ my first daughter, but this time baby will sleep in our room in the pack and play for a few months before sharing a room w/ her big sister.

Our daughter's room is pink/white toile. I LOVE it!!! Baby sister will be using the old crib bedding, so I want to get the matching twin set for my toddler. I can't wait to have it all done and have tons of ideas for decorating. One thing that I really want is a nightstand table, for in between their beds, but the one I want is round and almost impossible to find...

Back to work

So I have been having a rough time getting back in the groove of things.. I usually make bows at nighttime, after my daughter goes to sleep. But lately by that point I am exhausted and end up doing nothing. Last night I forced myself to do something. So I made some bows. I ended up making a few for my baby b/c she'll be coming soon and has no bows. lol Now I am on a roll and can't wait to make some more. I need to see which colors she'll need for her outfits so I can make some more...

Father's Day

I am so incredibly blessed, I have the most amazing husband. He is hardworking, thoughtful, selfless, loving, supportive and so much more. Somedays I just stand in awe at the man God selected for me. I don't know what I did to deserve him, but he truly is the best, my soulmate, my perfect match!
When we started talking about starting a family, my husband was anxious about becoming a father. I knew he'd be great at it, and he is truly the best daddy. Our daughter is a true daddy's girl, she asks for him all day long. When he comes home from work, he can barely get in the door before she is asking him to play this and that, and he is more than happy to oblige. :) They have so much fun together and he is teaching her everything he knows. It's fun to see her share his interests. I'm so excited to see him w/ 2 girls. :)

the day we became parents, over 2 years ago.

He is truly the bestest and most fun daddy ever! He is our hero and our prince charming. Happy Father's Day to my love!

32 weeks- 8 months

Holy cow I can hardly believe it. 8 weeks to go. Right now we are just praying that we make it to 8 weeks, after our scare earlier this week. I'm feeling much better, making sure I stay hydrated and I finally have my appetite back! I have been taking it easy, or trying to. If I do too much the contractions come. Yesterday I spent the day slowly folding laundry. Thankfully we had a huge pile of clean laundry, so all I had to do was sit in bed and fold. Then I put it away, which pretty much took all day b/c doing a lot of movement wears me out, takes my breath away.

But here we are, 32 weeks. It feels like I've been pregnant forever, but then again seems like only yesterday we saw that little blue plus sign :) It's been so fun to share this experience w/ not only my husband, but with my daughter. She likes to talk about baby sister and sometimes will even lift my shirt to "see" her. lol
Anytime she sees a baby at church or something she asks if that's baby sister. I can't wait till she can finally hold her!

Nothing else is going on... Just trying to hang in there. We're trying to get everything ready for baby's arrival. The playroom should be ready w/in the next week or so. Then we will start on their bedroom. Daddy has started staining baby girl's new bed, so she can give up the crib. She's very excited about her big girl bed. :)

I can't wait till next month, I'll have 2 showers, for 2 straight weekends. :) I'm excited b/c I know my mom and sister have been buying stuff and I'm so curious to see all the neat girly things they're getting...

Taking it easy

Monday morning I woke up not feeling that great. As the morning progressed I couldn't eat anything and I was very uncomfortable, I quickly realized that I was having contractions. They were 3 minutes apart. I was in shock b/c it just came so sudden. They slowed down to 4 minutes, then 10, then they were just everywhere. I tried eating some crackers and orange juice. By 12 I asked my husband to come home, I could barely stand. Keep in mind I have a 2 year old to take care of.. So he came home and fed our daughter some lunch, laid her down for her nap. I was waiting for my doctor to call back. At 2 my doctor called and wanted to see me right away. I got up and had to run to the bathroom, and got sick. We quickly left, dropped our daughter off with a friend and went to see the doctor. He hooked me up to a monitor for about 30-40 minutes, I made sure there was a trash can next to me. He came in and said my contractions were 4 minutes apart. No surprise to me I felt all of them. While waiting on an ultrasound, I got sick again, I had drank 2 bottles of water b/c I was so thirsty and it all came back up...He did an ultrasound and checked to see if I was dilated. Thankfully everything looked fine and I was not dilated at all. I was relieved, until he said, we're taking you to the hospital to stop the contractions and get some fluids in you. Scary words.

So Hubby and I were headed to the hospital, they set me up to a monitor, and IV. By then my contractions were 1 minute apart. I spent about 4 hours hooked up to the IV and by 9 pm my contractions were 11 minutes apart. They sent me home, part of me wanted to stay the night b/c I still felt miserable. BUT I was also glad to get my baby girl and go home. We left the hospital and it was like the day after tomorrow outside. What an awful storm. Today my hubby took the day off from work and has been wonderful. He's cleaned up and taken care of our daughter and me. I've slept a lot, anytime I get up to do something, and by that I mean walk, I get so exhausted, I have to get back in bed. I've been able to keep stuff down today, but I am living off gatorade, ginger ale, jello, toast and crackers. I'd love to eat more but I don't think I can handle it. I've had some sporadic contractions but they've been milder than yesterdays. Hoping to return to normal tomorrow...

Here's a pic of baby sister's heartbeat..

Weekend fun

This weekend I went outside w/ my rebel... I set the timer and took a few self portraits.. Here's one of my favorites, after some photoshop fun.

This morning I was straightening my hair and my daughter asked that I do hers, so I did :)

And someone outgrew all of her shoes overnight! So I got her 2 new sandals today. I love buying her shoes from JcPenney. I got both of these for $17, I had a coupon too :)

31 weeks

I have to admit I had a bit of a freak out moment this week. I looked at the counter and realized that the weeks are slowly coming to an end and I am NOT ready! everyone keeps saying, "oh you just need diapers and a pack and play"... Ok, the rational side of me agrees, I don't need to go all out and I can slowly start doing the girls room and whatnot.. BUT I am not rational and like things done now. lol Therefore I created a to do list, it's LONG! Hoping to get started on some tonight. One of the big things is my husband is painting a twin bed for my daughter and we keep going back and forth on stain or painting it white. The baby's furniture is cherry, so I'd like the bed to match. Then I need to find an armoire to match. BUT I LOVE white furniture and thought that I could just have cherry and white furniture in the room. That room has always had both color furniture. I wish I could paint the baby furniture white, but alas, I am not that brave. lol

Anyways, I've been experiencing a lot of Braxton Hicks lately, mostly from overdoing it. I usually have to sit down and drink lots of water before they go away. The other day it took forever for them to go away b/c my toddler was asking for this and that and I had to keep getting up to give her lunch and what not..

I've been craving a lot of coke lately. I've given up coffee. It was aggravating my heartburn and making me so sick. I HATE that I can't have coffee every morning. BUT it's only temporary. I still can't have any mexican either. But thankfully I haven't had to give up chocolate :)
I'm still waiting on the results from my 3 hour glucose test. I meant to call my doctor yesterday to ask but forgot. It's been a week, so I'm hoping that since they haven't called me, that it's good news. :) I CANNOT take that test again. With my first pregnancy I passed the 3 hour test the first time.. Then at 34 weeks my doctor found sugar in my urine and I was forced to retake the test. I was diagnosed w/ Gestational diabetes. I am holding my breath and hoping the same thing doesn't happen here. I've taken the 3 hour test twice this pregnancy.

Other than majorly nesting, nothing else has changed. Just getting excited to meet my baby girl.

30 weeks

Wow, 30 sounds crazy!!! In about 2 months or so I will be holding my baby girl in my arms.
Things are going ok. We're still working on getting the house ready for her arrival. We've had so much other stress and things pop up that having a baby has not been our top priority. I know that sounds awful, but after the day we had yesterday (read 2 posts below) right now we are just trying not to fall apart.
We are very excited for her arrival and can't wait for our girls to meet.

Here I am at 30 weeks. :)

On Wednesday we had our very first 4D ultrasound. It was amazing! Seeing her move around was just so overwhelming and I was just filled w/ so much love. She was so cute and kept putting her hand over her face, so I had to move around to make her move so we could see her face. lol She was asleep and kept moving all over the place. It was neat to see my stomach jump and then see how she was moving to make that happen. lol She is mainly a puncher, her hands are both by her head.

She kept yawning and sticking her tongue out, it was absolutely precious.

This week I had my 3 hour glucose test, I am anxiously awaiting the results. My cravings have changed completely, I can't stand any meat, and mexican food makes me so sick, I can't even think of eating it. I've been craving sandwiches a lot, with lunchmeat. So at least that's something. lol I've had a lot of morning sickness, mainly at night and heartburn. SO thankful for tums!

RIP

Today my husband and I experienced our first loss as a married couple. Our dog's health had been dimishing, it seemed like overnight he grew old and slept all day, hardly ever moved. Hubby took him to the vet today and there was no promise of recovery, so I dropped off our toddler w/ a friend and met hubby at the vet. It was our first time at that office and they were the sweetest group ever! They loved on sweet Riley and held him as we let him go. Hubby and I sat with him and just loved on him as he took his last breath. I didn't think we could ever stop crying. For now we sit at home, missing our protector. He used to lay at our feet and followed hubby everywhere. We also had to explain to our 2 1/2 year old that Riley is with Jesus and he went bye bye. She looked perplexed, but took it well. I am concerned about the cat, but we'll just make sure he is getting lots of loving.

Rest In Peace my sweet Riley.
