New dining room

About 2 months ago my dad came over and painted my dining room accent wall. It used to be a rust/orange color, which I liked, and now it's black, which I absolutely love. I wish I would've painted it a long time ago. It makes the dining room look so much better! I posted some pictures last month of what it used to look like, click here to see them. And now here's my new dining room. It's my favorite room of the house! :)

I love these plates! My mother in law knows me well, and bought these for me. :)

I like having my table set up. I'd still like a nice centerpiece, but don't know what...

Ignore the messy coat rack and pack and play. :)

My sister had these curtains in her closet and she gave them to me. They match perfectly and are so pretty!

My black wall!!! I love this wall. I took the mirror that used to hang in the mantle and put it on this wall. And I got a vinyl made with our name and put on a tile. :) That's my favorite part of the dining room!

My cooking ventures

The other night I was feeling pretty inspired. I LOVE to cook, but it's hard to find the time to experiment when you have a toddler running around the house. lol But I am tired of making the quick meals, it always ends up being the same things. So I made a new dish, from the top of my head. :)
I cooked penne pasta, set that aside.

I took 2 chicken breasts, dipped in butter, breaded it w/ breadcrumbs and seasonings. I fried the 2 chicken breasts in the skillet, just for color. I then put them in a dish, covered in foil and baked at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Meanwhile, I mixed a can of cream of mushroom soup and sour cream. Once the 20 minutes were up, I took the dish out of oven, put the cream of mush/ sour cream mix in the dish w/ the chicken. Covered it once again and baked for 15 minutes. Once the 15 minutes were up I put some toppings on my dish: tomatoes, chives, shredded mozzarella cheese and Italian seasoning. I baked uncovered for 5 minutes or until the cheese melted. I served that over the pasta and it was SO good. :) The mixture made an incredible sauce. The only thing missing was garlic bread, but I had none at home.

The more I thought about it, instead of cream of mushroom you can use cream of celery, cream of chicken, or even that thick cheddar soup. I think they all would make incredible sauces. :)

Valentine's dress

I love making pillowcase dresses, it's about the only thing I can sew :) I made one for my daughter to wear on Valentine's day. I also made her matching hairbows with some left over fabric from the dress. I think she looked SO cute. I made a new style of bows for her and really liked it. What do you think?

She would not look at the camera. lol Her pretty dress!

The bows. I love pigtails!

growing so fast...

The best feeling in the world was when I became a mom. There are no words to describe the love and joy I have for my daughter. She is my world. At 15 months now, she's learning so fast! She repeats everything we say, it's so great. BUT it makes me so cautious now with what I watch, listen to and say. I want to be a good example to her. She loves everything girly (yay) and lately has been extra clingy with mommy. She even stays w/ me when I clean and doesn't usually get in the way. She likes to "help" me cook too. Anytime I'm in the kitchen she starts "up, up" until I pick her up. She wants to see what I'm cooking. If I don't pick her up, she'll go in her room where her play kitchen is and get a pot and spoon and "cook" with mommy. It's adorable! I love that she wants to be like mommy.. It's great and really makes me more aware of my actions and words, b/c she's watching!

Valentine's deal

Valentine's day is almost here! I made the cutest pillow case dress for my 15 month old daughter, I can't wait for her to wear it! I still need to make her a bow to match and can't decide what to make. There are so many options. I love putting her hair in pigtails and have her wear korker bows. Or I thought of doing hearts on her pigtails. I also thought of making a bow w/ the leftover fabric from her dress. I thought it'd be something unique for her to have :) I think that's the option I'm going with.. Or at least try. :)
Are your daughter's ready? Do they have a cute bow? All our Valentine's bows are ready to be shipped out, free shipping! All you have to do is buy the bow and it will be shipped within 24 hours or less!
Check them out at BOWquet!
