Happy Birthday Nate!

Yesterday was my baby brother's birthday. He turned 18. It is so scary to think that he's an "adult" now. He'll be starting college in the fall, and it all makes me feel so OLD. I'm 10 years older than him, so I still see him as this little bundle of joy I first met in the hospital. I'm really excited to see him grow and see what he'll do with his life. He has so many plans and dreams, hopefully he will have time to accomplish them all! When he was little, he wanted to be an evangelist/ herpatologist... hmm, I think that's changed a bit. lol Not sure what he wants to do now, but I know it'll be great!
Happy 18th birthday Nate! I know God has great plans for you!!!

Wordless Wednesday

It's so neat to see everything through the eyes of a child. Everything is new and exciting! :)

Mommy Corner

Some cute moments with my daughter (20 months).

If we sneeze or cough, she always says "bess you" :)

If we do something for her or give her something, she'll say both "thank you" and "you're welcome". It's so cute.

She says "Seriously" and it's SO stinking cute!

On Saturday night, I grabbed my nail polish bag and she went crazy. I gave her a pedicure and she LOVES it. I love how girly she is!

She is giving us a hard time at bedtime. We'll put her in bed and she'll start crying or screaming. When we open the door, she smiles really big, waves and says "hi"... It's kinda cute. lol

She loves to sing twinkle twinkle little star...

She'll put her baby doll in the doll stroller, walk all around the house, stop and kiss the baby and say "love you" :)

She walks around the house through out the day "Daddy where are you?"

When daddy comes home "Daddy home!" and mommy no longer exists. :) Can you tell she's a daddy's girl!?

Being a mom is such a blessing and I love all the moments with her!

Monday-etsy finds

I've been looking around etsy for stuff for my daughter. I LOVE all the dresses and outfits I find on there. Right now I'm trying to build up her fall wardrobe. The girl has more clothes than me! lol But that's ok.
I recently came across this great shop called SewPoshBaby's shop and love her stuff. It's hard to pick a favorite. But I fell in love with this outfit she has. When I get enough sales, I need to come buy this! :) I can't get it out of my mind. Isn't it just the cutest?!?! I love how she made it look like candy corn. And I LOVE candy corn! This is SO perfect for the fall! Check out her shop for more cute things!

Weekend is here!

Hoping everyone has a safe and relaxing weekend!!!!
Here's something to make you laugh! Enjoy! :)

Three guys died when they got to the pearly gates. St. Peter met them and said, "I know you guys are forgiven because you're here but before you get into heaven I have to ask you something. Your answer will depend on what kind of car you get. You have to have a car in heaven as it is soo big".

St. Peter asked the first guy, "How long were you married?" He replied, "24 years."

"Did you ever cheat on your wife?" asked St. Peter.

The guy said, "Yeah, 7 times, but you said I was forgiven."

Peter said, "Yeah, but that's not too good. Here's a Ford Pinto to drive."

The second guy walked up and got the same question from Peter and said, "I was married for 41 years and cheated on her once, but that was our first year, so we really worked it out."

Peter said, "I'm pleased to hear that; here's your Ford Taurus."

The third guy walked up and said, "Peter , I know what you're going to ask. I was married for 63 years and didn't even look at another woman! I treated my wife like a queen!"

Peter said, "That's what I like to hear. Here's a Jaguar!"

A little while later, the two guys with the Taurus and the Pinto saw the guy with the Jaguar crying on the golden pavement, so they went to see what was the matter.

When they asked the guy with the Jaguar what was wrong, he said,

"I just saw my wife; she was on a skateboard!"

sickies

Well, my daughter got a cold from someone, most likely at church nursery because other than church we just stay home. She is finally over it, after 2 weeks. BUT she was kind enough to share with daddy. Daddy always gets whatever she gets. Then he gets "mad" because I'm with her more and never get it. NOT THIS TIME!!! My throat feels like it's on fire, and I can't stop coughing. My body hurts, I have no energy... blah! Today was so hard to get up and get moving. I've done nothing. I laid on the couch all morning and watched TV (which I never do) and let my poor daughter play around the house by herself. She is in her room now and I only got up because it's lunch time.. lol I'm hoping after nap I'll have some energy to play with her... To top it all off, today my husband is working late... It's going to be a long day. I'm not sure what to take as far as cold medicine goes. I take nyquil at night, but I can't take dayquil because it makes me so drowsy.

Anyways, I hope everyone is healthy and well. This cold is very annoying and I feel so useless today.. :/

Have a happy Thursday! The weekend is almost here!!!! :)

Nothing sweeter than daddy and his girl. They hold my heart.

Mommy corner

On Tuesdays I'll be posting about my experiences as a mom. I'll try to share some wisdom too, but I think I am lacking in that department. lol
I am a mom of a 20 month old girl. I LOVE it. :) I love how girly she is, and she loves wearing jewelry and bows. Some days she'll even pick out her own bow, and I'll let her wear it at home, even if it doesn't match the outfit.

My daughter has recently discovered a new love for letters. She knows a few of them and their sounds. She'll even point out letters when we go out as she sees them on billboards and such.
I recently went to Target (gotta love that place) and found the magnets that is the alphabet to put on my fridge. She loves it. She stands there pointing out letters and sounds while I cook and stuff. It's great to keep her occupied. I never thought I'd be one of those moms that has tons of magnets on her fridge. I hate it. lol But what can I say, I love my little girl and her thirst for knowledge, so yes, I'll put up with letters and such on my fridge. :)

Alphabet magnets $1
Hours of entertainment, priceless!

Ps. I know she's not wearing a bow, shame on me, right?! lol

Etsy Finds

I wanted to start some new things with this blog to make it more interesting for the readers.. Every Monday, I'll post about something cool I find on etsy...
Also, everyday I will offer a different "Deal of the day". You can see what the item is on the right upper corner of this blog. There is a picture of the item and when you click on it, it'll take you to it in my shop.
Don't forget to check my blog daily for a new post and a new deal of the day! :)

Monday- Etsy find:
I wanted my daughter to wear a pretty 4th of July dress, but I had no desire to make it... I was being lazy. lol So I went on a search on etsy and found a dress that I fell in love with. I loved the print because it was our flag and just had to have it. It's a simple pillowcase dress, very well made. The best part is that it's 1 size fits all, so she'll be able to wear it again next year, at least as a shirt. I can't wait for her to wear it again! :)

My daughter on the 4th of July (she never sits still for a picture)

I got the dress from Bumbles and Bees Bonnets. She is wonderful to work with and very sweet. She is also very quick! :) Visit her shop for some more pretty dresses!!!

Letters...

My 20 month old loves the alphabet. She loves letters. So I've been printing 1 letter a day for her to color. I've also had her glue tissue paper to letters so she could do something different. She really enjoyed the glue :)

If you'd like to print some for yourself, click here.

To continue her letter learning, I also bought the magnetic alphabet and put it on my fridge. She loves playing with the letters and identifying them. And we also let her watch Leap Frog's Letter Factory. She LOVES it!

I was an art teacher in an elementary school for 1 year (before I became a mom). One of the MANY websites I used for crafts was DLTK. I plan on using this site to find stuff to do with my daughter. She's a bit young for a lot of stuff, but with time I'll be able to do lots of stuff with her! :)

Abc's

My 20 month old loves the alphabet. It's amazing how fast she's learning. She loves to point out the letters and their sounds. We've been working through the letters, yesterday we were on C. :) This was her first time with glue and tissue paper. She had a lot of fun.

Show Us your life - Favorite Bible Verse

In Kelly's blog, Friday is Show us your life- Favorite Bible Verse... Well, I have a favorite passage. Anytime I am going through a trial or just in need of encouragement, I go to this passage. It's such a wonderful reminder of God's faithfulness to take care of us. I'm so thankful to have a Lord that I can go to in my dark times and also the good times. :)

Prayer for Deliverance and Guidance.

A Psalm of David.

1Hear my prayer, O LORD,
(A)Give ear to my supplications!
Answer me in Your (B)faithfulness, in Your (C)righteousness!
2And (D)do not enter into judgment with Your servant,
For in Your sight (E)no man living is righteous.
3For the enemy has persecuted my soul;
He has crushed my life (F)to the ground;
He (G)has made me dwell in dark places, like those who have long been dead.
4Therefore (H)my spirit is overwhelmed within me;
My heart is [a](I)appalled within me.
5I (J)remember the days of old;
I (K)meditate on all Your doings;
I (L)muse on the work of Your hands.
6I (M)stretch out my hands to You;
My (N)soul longs for You, as a parched land. Selah.
7(O)Answer me quickly, O LORD, my (P)spirit fails;
(Q)Do not hide Your face from me,
Or I will become like (R)those who go down to the pit.
8Let me hear Your (S)lovingkindness (T)in the morning;
For I trust (U)in You;
Teach me the (V)way in which I should walk;
For to You I (W)lift up my soul.
9(X)Deliver me, O LORD, from my enemies;
I take refuge in You.
10(Y)Teach me to do Your will,
For You are my God;
Let (Z)Your good Spirit (AA)lead me on level ground.
11(AB)For the sake of Your name, O LORD, (AC)revive me
(AD)In Your righteousness bring my soul out of trouble.
12And in Your lovingkindness, (AE)cut off my enemies
And (AF)destroy all those who afflict my soul,
For (AG)I am Your servant.

I hope this passage can bring some comfort to you!
