Zoo Day

This week we went to the zoo.. It was a great day.
Our zoo has a water park, so most of the morning was spent there. :)

After the water park I put her hair up in a ponytail :)

We also got to feed the giraffes but my camera acted up so I didn't get any pix of her feeding them. :/

Her favorite animals :)

Easter outfit

I spent a long time looking around for the perfect Easter dress for my sweet girl. I LOVE LOVE Bishop dresses, so I knew I wanted that, plus I wanted something w/ purple b/c she didn't have a purple one. I found a beautiful one on Ebay, made her a matching hairbow (a new line I'm creating for the shop) and I thought she looked beautiful, truly my little angel. :)

My sweet angel

Her pretty new bow. Soon coming to BOWquet :)

25 weeks

Here I am on Easter Sunday, 24. 3 weeks. I feel so huge all of a sudden, I feel like she has taken over my entire belly. lol But that's ok, that's what she's suppose to do :) I have been eating more and more, I always feel hungry. lol I'm trying to watch my carbs intake, to avoid gestational diabetes.. I'll be tested again in about 4 weeks or so. Baby sister is moving around a lot lately. I think she finally move up, she had been sitting so low for so long. I love watching my belly move as she moves. :) I've been getting her clothes ready, I've taken out all of big sister's clothes and gone through it and I've bought baby a few things. I need more newborn stuff, so I'm been on shopping mode. lol

My cravings have not changed. Still love Moe's, cheese, chocolate and coke :) I ALWAYS crave chocolate. I never did w/ my first daughter...lol I actually have chocolate cake sitting on my kitchen counter, constantly calling my name. :) It's SO good, I love cake. Not much has changed. I think I've been on nesting mode these past few days, so my house is actually staying clean. :) I love it!

We're working on getting the girls room ready. Right now we're finishing up redoing our bedroom, then we'll focus our attention on the girls room and also turning the sunroom into the playroom. So excited!!

bedroom make over

My husband and I have been redoing our room for the past year. Last year I bought my comforter set and curtains. About 2 months ago we painted the room a chocolate brown. Then the hunt began for new furniture. We've had our furniture for 6 years, my husband had it before that in his old room, his stepdad had it before that. So it was 30+ years old and falling apart. Anyways, after months of searching, we finally found the set we liked, from Ikea. We spent our Easter Sunday putting it all together, it looks so awesome! I still have to get stuff to decorate the room, and we're still waiting on the 2nd dresser. Once all that is put up, I'll post more pictures. :) This morning was the first time in a long time that I made up my bed. :) it looks so pretty.

24 Weeks

Today I am 24 weeks.. This pregnancy is flying! This week I've felt much better.. Migraines have subsided. I still get them, but it's not as bad as it has been. I've had a lot of good days, and it's awesome! I'm focusing on my toddler spending extra time with her and making sure she gets out of the house more.

On Sunday night I looked at my reflection and it seemed like my belly just grew in a matter of minutes. I looked bigger that night than I did in the morning. Kinda freaky. lol I'm showing a lot quicker this time than the first pregnancy. It's all good. I just hope I don't get overly huge. I've been eating whatever I want, and lately I've needed more food than before. So I'm trying to eat more, but stay on the healthier side. I am a junk food lover, my addiction is cheetos. But I don't buy them anymore, b/c when they're in my pantry, I eat an entire bag in 24 hours. lol

My cravings have been the same, cheetos, Moe's, cheese, chocolate, coke... Anything sweet and junky. haha SO as you can see it's hard to eat healthy when I don't crave it. Though I have been craving apples lately, which I made sure we have at home.
I had gestational diabetes with my first pregnancy, I was diagnosed at 32 weeks... So this time, I've already been tested and passed. I'll be tested again at 28 weeks and I"m praying I pass and that I can be GD free this time around. My eating habits do not help, so I really need to watch what I eat. I even turned down chocolate chip ice cream last night. lol

Baby sister is moving a lot lately. She is a puncher. She rarely kicks, but man does she love to punch her mommy. My daughter is still very "patiently" awaiting her sister's arrival. Anytime she sees a picture of a baby or sees a baby she asks if that's her baby sister. lol It's so sweet. I know she'll love her baby sister when she does get here.

Here I am at 23 weeks 4 days. :)

Mommy worries..

My daughter has always been very active and social. She loves going out and being outside. I've done my best to take her out, but I am a homebody, total opposite of her. I HATE going out. I've tried to get over myself for her benefit and we've gone out more often, but not often enough. Lately she's had more and more of a desire to be out. Last week, she had cabin fever, so bad, it was definitely affecting her behavior. So on Thursday we went to the park and she had a blast. Saturday daddy took her to the zoo so mommy could clean. On Sunday, I went to pick her up from our church nursery and she didn't want to come home, she asked to stay and play some more. Talk about a knife in my heart. :/ I need to get her out more, with other kids. I don't know what to do with her, other than plan playdates. We have season passes for our local zoo and museum, so I'd like to take her there more often... Other than that, not sure what I can do with her.

What do you do with your kids for fun and interaction?

grasshopper

Our yard has been overtaken by grasshoppers.. My daughter of course loves to go watch them. She freaks out when they start hopping, but she does like to watch them. I love to take her outside to play, I wish we had a swing set for her. But she loves to run around, pick flowers and just have fun. She is an outdoor girl, which is the opposite of me b/c I hate being outside. lol I make an effort to take her outside more often but there's only so much I can do with her in our boring yard. lol

Watching the grasshoppers

Those little suckers have taken over my yard

23 weeks

Today I am 23 weeks pregnant. Yikes! I am still having good days and bad. Thankfully, as far as the pain goes, I've had a lot of good days. The pelvic pain and pressure have decreased and I'm so thankful for the good days. Hopefully it'll stay that way. I try to take it easy so as to not have bad days. lol But for 2 weeks, I suffered from a horrible migraine. Note, 1 migraine, that lasted that long. It got bad. This week has been good, I still have a lot of tension and pressure in my head, the effects of the migraine, but the pain is gone. My husband even took last Thursday off to take care of our daughter so I could rest, it was awesome! lol
Other than that, everything is great. This baby girl is SO active, she is constantly punching me. I LOVE it! I can't wait until my hubby and daughter can feel her move. It's the best part of being pregnant.

Here I am at 22 weeks 3 days. I still need to take a picture this week, but I rarely go out and look decent enough for pictures. lol

My latest cravings have been chocolate and coke with lime. :) Baby sister LOVES coke... hehehe It's funny b/c w/ my first daughter, the thought of sweets made me sick. This time, it's all I want.

Girl Time

One of my favorite things to do is give myself pedicures, I used to do it once a week, every Saturday, the day before church. :) Then I got pregnant, and the bigger I got, the harder it got to give myself weekly pedis. lol Then I became a mom, and time was limited... So I don't get a lot of pedis, sadly. Now I get to paint 20 toes, mine and my daughters. :) She shares my love for pretty toes and anytime she sees my nailpolish, she wants "pink toes"... She loves showing off her toes, it's so cute. She's been asking me for a pedicure for the past week. I haven't had the time. Last night I finally sat down, it was just the 2 of us at home, and I painted her toes. It's so cute to see these tiny toes painted in red. :) Today I plan on painting my toes in red.. We'll see if I can still reach them. ha! Too bad my daughter can't paint my toes. lol Someday!!

Monday Etsy Finds

Do you shop on etsy? Do you have your own shop on etsy? I LOVE shopping on etsy. There is SO much to choose from, house decor, toys, clothes, bows... It's also a way to support people trying to make it out there. A lot of etsians I've "met" are stay at home moms, like me, just trying to make some extra money while staying home with the kids.

Every Monday I've shared things I've either bought or liked on etsy. Today I'd like to hear from you. What is your favorite etsy shop? Please leave a comment sharing a link to your favorite shop and what you've bought from there. Or just a shop you've been admiring and plan to shop from soon. :) You can also leave a link to your shop.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Show Us Your life - Mother's day/Father's Day Ideas

I've had 2 mother's day as mom. The first year, my husband took me to breakfast, then we spent the day running around visiting both our moms. Last year we skipped church (which I hated) went to the zoo with my mother in law, then met my family for ice cream. As much as I love our moms, I always feel like I miss out b/c we are always trying to make sure we spend time w/ both our moms. So this year, I'd like to celebrate with each mom on separate days (Friday and Saturday) and then have Sunday to myself. Is that selfish?! :) I don't know what I want as far as gifts.. I really just want a day with my husband and daughter, just to relax and be together, the 3 of us.
Last year my husband surprised me with a gift I had been wanting. I wanted a ring, engraved with my daughter's name and her birthstone, Topaz. He got the ring from Zales and I LOVE it. I wear it everyday! Now, the one thing I didn't plan was to add to it. lol I will either have to get another ring for my 2nd daughter or get a type of ring that's stackable and replace it all together. I'll worry about it next year, my 2nd daughter won't be born till August (which I hate that birthstone, it's mine as well, lol)

Here's my ring I got last year. I got it in silver, with a yellow topaz stone. My daughter's first name is on one side, middle name in the other side.

I haven't found a ring for multiple children that I like.. This year I want a digital frame. I LOVE pictures and I'm out of frame space, so a digital frame would be perfect. :)

For Father's day, we go to church, then meet my family for lunch. My father in law lives far away from us, so we never get to see him. My husband's first Father's day I gave him a clay heart with my daughter's handprint. Last year I gave him a "dad" shirt and a "Daddy's little angel" shirt for my daughter. This year, I'm not sure what we're doing.

The best part about either holiday is spending the morning in church. Our pastor always preaches an amazing sermon targeted to moms and dads. :)

So there you have it. We keep it simple around here.

The great Outdoors

My daughter LOVES playing outside.. She has a little playhouse in the backyard that she calls "castle" so she loves to play in it... Then we run around chasing each other. Though I am usually chasing her with a camera. :) I am not an outdoor person at all, I HATE the outside. BUT my daughter is like her daddy, an outdoor person, she loves going out anywhere. In fact, almost every morning she asks me to go out somewhere. lol Thankfully we are zoo members, so I take her there often. Since she likes to be outside, I make it a point to take her outside as much as possible. She has so much fun and it's so great to watch her little face light up when she's playing outside. I will say that lately I do like being outside, but mainly just b/c I like to take pictures of different things, mainly my daughter. :)

The other day we went outside and she picked flowers for me. It was so cute! She absolutely loves flowers and has to smell everyone of them.

Stopping to smell the flowers...

Migraine woes

I've suffered from migraines for the past 7 years or so of my life. It all started in college. My neurologist diagnosed me w/ a combo of migraines and tension headaches. It took over a year of trying different medications, physical therapy, massages to figure out what worked for me. My migraines would last days and weeks at a time. It was horrible. I learned to live w/ it and went about my daily routine, working (I was a teacher) through migraines. When it got really bad, I got sent home. When I got pregnant with my daughter 3 years ago, the migraines slowly started going away. I had a few bad ones in the beginning. I even remember coming home early from work one day and my hubby leaving work early to take care of me. After the first trimester, my migraines went away. I think I got a few, very mild ones towards the end of the pregnancy, but once my daughter was born, I hadn't gotten them again.

I think in the past 2 1/2 years I've gotten very few migraines, all of them tolerable. When I got pregnant this time, the migraines came back. This past week has been awful! I've been completely useless, so much pain. Even sleep is hard, I wake up crying in pain through the night... I've been taking tylenol, but it only helps me survive. I am seeing my doctor today so we'll see what he has to say.

Did anyone suffer from migraines while pregnant? I don't know what to do.

Playing with my new toy

About a month ago my husband gave me a present. I have a "slight" obsession with taking pictures, and when I say slight, I'm talking about in the hundreds each week :) With my daughter growing up and another baby on the way, we decided it was time to get my dream camera, a Canon Rebel. I LOVE LOVE LOVE taking pictures and have taken hundreds and hundreds each week. lol
I've been trying to practice with the manual setting and took some fun pictures of my daughter's shoes.

By the way, I love her pink converses! :)

Swagbucks

Have you guys heard of swagbucks? A friend introduced me to it several months ago and I'm a bit obsessed with it. :) If you haven't heard of it, it's a site that you can earn points by doing certain things such as answering surveys or watching quick videos... You collect points and then use it to get rewards. I always use my points to get an amazon gift card. So far, I've gotten maybe somewhere around 10 $5 amazon cards. Which I've used most of that to get stuff for my daughter :) So it's like free money. I spend on average 2-3 hours on swagbucks a day, not all at once, a few minutes here and there through out the day. I love seeing my points go up and getting gift cards.
If you haven't seen swagbucks, check it out. I am very skeptical with stuff like this, but I've not had any problems with swagbucks and am very excited to keep collecting points to get more stuff for my daughters. :)
