Huge Milestone

Last week I finally bit the bullet and potty trained my daughter. She is 2 1/2, there's a baby coming and I really didn't want to have to change 2 diapers. lol She had been showing tons of signs of being ready. I had tried the week after she turned 2, with no success, she knew to hold her bladder, but wouldn't go in the potty. I had to fight with her to get her to even sit in the potty, so I gave up and figured I'd try again later. These past few months I'd keep her in panties for part of the day and we'd be accident free, but she still wouldn't go potty. This past month we stayed in panties daily, at least before nap. She never had an accident. I was never fully consistant w/ it, but I knew she wasn't fully ready. Last week I figured I'd try again, I'd be consistent and see if it worked.

Monday started, I put her in panties, sat her in the potty, nothing. I laid her down for nap, in panties, knowing she'd have an accident, but I needed to show her that pee pee goes in the potty, not on her panties. That day, we had 4 accidents. The 4th accident, daddy was home, we both watched her and stopped her. Then I sat her in the potty and told her that's where we pee pee. And she DID! Daddy and I were so proud and excited. She had no clue what to do w/ herself. lol We rewarded her with ice cream and stickers. She loves her sticker chart. Tuesday went by accident free and by that evening she started telling me when she had to go. We haven't had any accidents for a week, even when we're out. She tells me when she has to go, it's been awesome! She naps in panties, accident free. She still sleeps in diapers, when she can master going poopy in the potty, we'll be done w/ diapers completely. She knows she has to go #2 in the potty, but hasn't yet. I'm not worried about it, I know when she's ready she'll go. She's done such a great job with everything else, I'm so proud!!! It's such an exciting accomplishment. :)

29 weeks

I've completed my first week of the 3rd trimester. Things are going ok. I've been dealing w/ some pelvic pain again, but not as bad as it was in the beginning of the pregnancy. We're slowly trying to get things ready but there's a lot that needs to be done. lol I keep wondering when I should set up the pack and play in my room, I'd like it up soon so I can feel "ready". But I know I don't need it up for another 8-10 weeks. lol We still need to finish painting our toddler's new bed so we can put her in her big girl bed and set up the crib for baby sister.

This pregnancy has flown by. I'm ready to meet my new daughter, but want to enjoy these next 2 months with only 1 child. I know things will get stressful for a while, but I am looking forward to it. :) I love feeling baby kicks and punches, she is pretty active, especially after I eat.

My cravings have stayed the same, coke, chocolate, fruits... I think I'm done craving mexican. I still love it, but baby doesn't like it anymore. lol The last 3 times I've had Mexican, I've gotten so sick! And the heartburn doesn't help either. lol I've also been craving milk, so I've been eating a lot of cereal b/c I don't really like to drink just plain milk.

I'll be having my 3 hour glucose test this next week or so. It'll be my 2nd test this pregnancy, and I am praying I don't have gest. diabetes. I had it the last 6 weeks of my first pregnancy and it was SO hard to manage.

I'm loving my baby belly (I know I'm weird) and I'll miss it once we're done. But it's so exciting to think that in a few short months I'll be holding my daughter in my arms. I can't wait to meet her!!

Mustangs

Anyone who knows me, knows my LOVE and slight obsession for Ford Mustangs. :) My dream mustang is a '67 Shelby Mustang GT 500 (if you've seen Gone in 60 seconds, it's Eleanor).
This past weekend, there was a Mustang show in our hometown, it was so awesome to see all those mustangs in one place. I'll spare you, but I took TONS of pictures. There were a lot of classic mustangs, but no Eleanor...

So many Mustangs... :)

Think this could be my next mommy mobile?! :)

I LOVE Shelby!!

Monday Etsy finds

Do you have a DSLR camera? We recently purchased a canon rebel, I take it everywhere, but the strap hurts my neck after a while. I've been looking for a strap cover, a friend of mine actually sent me to this etsy shop and it's very hard to find a favorite strap cover b/c they're all so cute. :) The best part is there's a pocket on there for the lens cover, so I don't have to keep track of it.. lol

This is a cute and comfortable addition to snazz up your SLR or DSLR camera strap! The strap cover is padded, removable and washable!
Check out adivaand3dudesdesign for camera straps. All their straps are $15 plus shipping, what an awesome deal!!!

This is my favorite one! I LOVE black and white :)

Isn't this one so pretty!? It's sure to make your camera look awesome! :)

I love the colors on this one, I LOVE pink! :)

28 weeks down...

12 weeks to go :) I'm really not counting down, much, but I can hardly believe that I'm in the first week of the 3rd trimester. It goes by SO much faster the 2nd time around... I LOVE being pregnant, but I'm so looking forward to meeting my little girl. And mostly I'm excited for my daughter to finally meet her sister. I'm nervous at how she'll react at first, not being the only child anymore... They will be 3 months shy of being 3 years apart. Part of the reason there's such a big age gap is b/c I was always so scared of having another kid. I liked giving my firstborn all my attention. :) BUT after much talk, prayer and desire for a baby, we dove in and now here we are, very excited to have another newborn in our house.

photo from baby gaga.

My cravings haven't really changed, I can't have enough chocolate. :) My heartburn has gotten progressively worse. I keep tums by my bedside and eat it like candy. I'm avoiding eating a lot of things that aggravate my heartburn, like coffee, sodas, acidic foods...

I am loving the sweet baby kicks and punches... My tummy moves around all over when she starts and I think it's awesome! I love it. :)

I have no pictures this week, I'm slacking. lol I'll take some later on today or this weekend...

Sigh...

So our dining room table is one of those tall, countertop height tables. We got it almost 6 years ago, when we first got married. I LOVE the table, BUT it's not child friendly at all. Our toddler is quickly outgrowing her high chair and we have no other place to sit her to eat.
I guess she hates the table, b/c as you can see she "broke" the chair (that's what she told me) a few months ago. Last week, she came running to me and handed me another huge piece of the leather. Yep, pretty much 1/2 of that stool is destroyed. It will take reupholstering all 6 stools to fix it. lol B/c they have to match. She has learned never to "break the chair" again.. One can only hope.

As of now, hubby and I are thinking of selling the table anyways so we can buy a regular size table w/ chairs, but we already have so much going on, it may have to wait a while. lol

Never a dull moment in our house. :)

Busy Bee

I've had tons of ideas flowing through my mind lately... :) I've been working on making some new items for my shop. Today I've made one headband, but I have plans to make lots more later on. It's much easier for me to work when my toddler is in bed. lol There's more coming! And this will be listed in my shop next week.

This is perfect for a newborn photoshoot :)

27 weeks

I can't believe how close I am to the 3rd trimester. This has just flown by! I'm both excited and nervous. I LOVE being pregnant, aches and all. I'll miss the sweet baby kicks the most. BUT I am so excited to meet my baby girl. Most of all, I'm excited for her to meet her big sister.

The other day, big sister came to me, pointed to my belly and said "that's my baby sister in mommy's belly" :) And this past week or so she'll come hug me and then rub my belly. Is that not the sweetest thing?!!? :) I have a framed ultrasound picture from my pregnancy w/ my first daughter. She sat in front of it and just stared and kept saying, "baby sister".. I let her think that was baby sister. lol I think it's amazing she remembers seeing baby sister's ultrasound 10 weeks ago.

My cravings are still the same, chocolate, coke and mexican :) I've been avoiding junk food, but sometimes it's hard! I'm also trying to limit my carb intake. Which is also hard. My #1 addiction is cheetos, which I refuse to buy b/c I will eat the entire bag in one sitting. I've been avoiding coffee (that is a task in itself) and sodas and other stuff b/c I have been getting really bad heartburn. Tums sits next to me in bed.. lol
AND I have been working out daily, per doctor's orders :) For the most part I do the stationary bike for 20 minutes a day. Sometimes I try to do more. And then I'll use our stepper, not daily, but I try to do it the most I can. That one kicks my butt and I can barely handle 5 minutes. I have to force myself to do 5 minutes, with lots of breaks. lol I need to do that one more b/c it clearly is a better work out for me. lol

Being productive

SO this week I started with a purpose. To be a better mom, spending more time doing activities with my daughter and not watch so much TV. I also want to spend more time cleaning and keeping the house clean. Yesterday was a really good day, we'll see how today goes. It leads to a more exhausting day for me, but my sweet girl had a great day. We even went to play outside. :)

What do you think of my art work!? :)

So on Sunday I started freaking out a bit b/c I'm a week away from my 3rd trimester and we have done NOTHING to prepare for baby's arrival. It's much more relaxed the 2nd time around. lol I have been buying her some outfits here and there, but other than that, nothing. There are several things that need to happen before she comes. The girls will be sharing a room, so we need to get my oldest daughter into a twin bed and get the crib she's in ready for the baby. There's more stuff that needs to be done to the room, but it'll be easier to figure out once the furniture is all in. We have a twin bed that my husband is staining, so hopefully that will be done soon. We also need to organize our office. My husband and I share a work space in our 3rd bedroom. He is an artist, you can only imagine how much stuff we both have. It's almost impossible to keep the room clean b/c we both have so much!!! Lastly I need to turn our front room into a playroom. The room is made of windows. The bottom half of the wall is red brick, the top half of the 3 walls are all windows, 9 panels. There is no 4th wall, it's french doors that lead to the dining room. I want the windows covered b/c I don't want the outside world looking in to see my girls playing in there. SO at the moment, due to friends' suggestions, I am thinking of getting tension rods to put inside the window frame and then making my own little curtains. That's 9 curtains, yikes! I'm hoping to get that done w/in the next week... I already started moving toys into the room.

Part of the room

SO this has been my week so far. I've been trying to do something productive each day. I want to end each day knowing that I've accomplished something. And it feels SO good! I am where the Lord wants me, where I wanted to be, I'm a stay at home mommy. I am in charge of raising my daughter (soon to be daughters) and it's a very humbling task. I want to be a good role model for them, in every area. And if they see me slacking off or being lazy, that's not teaching them properly. I have been praying hard that I can be the mom God wants me to be.

Hope everyone has a productive week!! :)

What would you do for coffee!?!?

This week is a little bit different. No etsy finds today. Instead I want to let you know that a fellow etsian and I are in a friendly competition for the week :) 2kute (who just happens to be my mom) and I have made a bet to see who can come up with more products this week. She crochets and owns an awesome etsy shop. And I have my bow shop. At the end of the week, we'll see who has the most items ready, loser has to buy the winner starbucks coffee. :) SO I need to get myself in gear and get to work!!!

Keep up with our competition on our fb pages. You can follow 2kute and BOWquet for updates through out the week :)

Beach Day

My husband had a few days off this week, so we took the opportunity to take our daughter to the beach. She loves it and would never leave the water if we let her. lol
It was a really fun day and we even got to see dolphins.

I sat on the sand a lot to rest, so I just took some fun pictures...

Walking with my girl

She loves running around :)

Such a beautiful day

26 weeks

Today marks 26 weeks, how crazy! Lately I feel like a yoyo, I have great days, tons of energy and I am able to get a lot done. Then I'll have a bad day, usually a day or 2 after the good day, where I can't move off the couch, mainly b/c I've over done it. So I try to enjoy both, on the good days I usually clean or I'll take my daughter out. On the bad days we snuggle on the couch and watch movies. :) Can't complain much either way, right!?

Last week I experienced a first, I had major braxton hicks. I've never had it before, not even w/ my first pregnancy, so I was so caught off guard. It got so bad at one point that all I could do was sit. Now, I have to say, I felt to stupid b/c lots of women go through this, and I don't want to be a wimp. But it was pretty bad. I've had sporadic braxton hicks since, but nothing bad anymore.

I had a doctor's appt this week. He said I gained too much weight in 1 month. Yikes. So now I need to exercise, per doctor's orders 5 days a week. I find it pretty funny b/c I am so a couch potato. lol BUT I did go on a walk 2 days ago. Yesterday we spent the morning at the beach, that counts right!? lol Today I haven't done anything yet, but I will, promise! I really want to make sure I'm in shape so I can lose weight quickly once she's born. And trying to eat healthy, which is hard b/c I am such a junk food lover. lol

Not much else going on, just enjoying life and anticipating her arrival.
BTW I just took these pictures today, so it is my 26 week pictures. I'm so bad at taking pictures on the actual day.. lol

Little helper

My little girl LOVES to help mommy and daddy. Anytime I'm cleaning she wants to help, and I of course let her. Whenever I'm sweeping the house, she grabs her little broom that nana gave her and helps me sweep. She gets so proud of herself, it's so sweet. Then when I get cleaning done she says "good job mommy"...

This past week we got our new furniture in from Ikea, we had to put it together. I was in charge of getting all the drawers put together, a very hard task when you're 6 months pregnant. lol But it was fun and such a great feeling of accomplishment when we finished. Our room is looking great, all that's left now is decorating.
Anyways, as I worked, I had a very cute little helper by my side. She got SO excited to help, I showed her where to put some of the screws and she was so proud of herself. I love those moments with my sweet girl.

Monday Etsy Finds

Ok so today is not so much "etsy" but ebay find. :) About 2 months ago I found this great shop where I found my toddler's Easter dress. I check her shop almost daily looking for cute stuff for my girls. She has beautiful clothes for both boys and girls!
Check out Little Footprints Children's shop and be ready to buy some cute things!
