Show Us Your life - Mother's day/Father's Day Ideas

I've had 2 mother's day as mom. The first year, my husband took me to breakfast, then we spent the day running around visiting both our moms. Last year we skipped church (which I hated) went to the zoo with my mother in law, then met my family for ice cream. As much as I love our moms, I always feel like I miss out b/c we are always trying to make sure we spend time w/ both our moms. So this year, I'd like to celebrate with each mom on separate days (Friday and Saturday) and then have Sunday to myself. Is that selfish?! :) I don't know what I want as far as gifts.. I really just want a day with my husband and daughter, just to relax and be together, the 3 of us.
Last year my husband surprised me with a gift I had been wanting. I wanted a ring, engraved with my daughter's name and her birthstone, Topaz. He got the ring from Zales and I LOVE it. I wear it everyday! Now, the one thing I didn't plan was to add to it. lol I will either have to get another ring for my 2nd daughter or get a type of ring that's stackable and replace it all together. I'll worry about it next year, my 2nd daughter won't be born till August (which I hate that birthstone, it's mine as well, lol)

Here's my ring I got last year. I got it in silver, with a yellow topaz stone. My daughter's first name is on one side, middle name in the other side.

I haven't found a ring for multiple children that I like.. This year I want a digital frame. I LOVE pictures and I'm out of frame space, so a digital frame would be perfect. :)

For Father's day, we go to church, then meet my family for lunch. My father in law lives far away from us, so we never get to see him. My husband's first Father's day I gave him a clay heart with my daughter's handprint. Last year I gave him a "dad" shirt and a "Daddy's little angel" shirt for my daughter. This year, I'm not sure what we're doing.

The best part about either holiday is spending the morning in church. Our pastor always preaches an amazing sermon targeted to moms and dads. :)

So there you have it. We keep it simple around here.

The great Outdoors

My daughter LOVES playing outside.. She has a little playhouse in the backyard that she calls "castle" so she loves to play in it... Then we run around chasing each other. Though I am usually chasing her with a camera. :) I am not an outdoor person at all, I HATE the outside. BUT my daughter is like her daddy, an outdoor person, she loves going out anywhere. In fact, almost every morning she asks me to go out somewhere. lol Thankfully we are zoo members, so I take her there often. Since she likes to be outside, I make it a point to take her outside as much as possible. She has so much fun and it's so great to watch her little face light up when she's playing outside. I will say that lately I do like being outside, but mainly just b/c I like to take pictures of different things, mainly my daughter. :)

The other day we went outside and she picked flowers for me. It was so cute! She absolutely loves flowers and has to smell everyone of them.

Stopping to smell the flowers...

Migraine woes

I've suffered from migraines for the past 7 years or so of my life. It all started in college. My neurologist diagnosed me w/ a combo of migraines and tension headaches. It took over a year of trying different medications, physical therapy, massages to figure out what worked for me. My migraines would last days and weeks at a time. It was horrible. I learned to live w/ it and went about my daily routine, working (I was a teacher) through migraines. When it got really bad, I got sent home. When I got pregnant with my daughter 3 years ago, the migraines slowly started going away. I had a few bad ones in the beginning. I even remember coming home early from work one day and my hubby leaving work early to take care of me. After the first trimester, my migraines went away. I think I got a few, very mild ones towards the end of the pregnancy, but once my daughter was born, I hadn't gotten them again.

I think in the past 2 1/2 years I've gotten very few migraines, all of them tolerable. When I got pregnant this time, the migraines came back. This past week has been awful! I've been completely useless, so much pain. Even sleep is hard, I wake up crying in pain through the night... I've been taking tylenol, but it only helps me survive. I am seeing my doctor today so we'll see what he has to say.

Did anyone suffer from migraines while pregnant? I don't know what to do.

Playing with my new toy

About a month ago my husband gave me a present. I have a "slight" obsession with taking pictures, and when I say slight, I'm talking about in the hundreds each week :) With my daughter growing up and another baby on the way, we decided it was time to get my dream camera, a Canon Rebel. I LOVE LOVE LOVE taking pictures and have taken hundreds and hundreds each week. lol
I've been trying to practice with the manual setting and took some fun pictures of my daughter's shoes.

By the way, I love her pink converses! :)

Swagbucks

Have you guys heard of swagbucks? A friend introduced me to it several months ago and I'm a bit obsessed with it. :) If you haven't heard of it, it's a site that you can earn points by doing certain things such as answering surveys or watching quick videos... You collect points and then use it to get rewards. I always use my points to get an amazon gift card. So far, I've gotten maybe somewhere around 10 $5 amazon cards. Which I've used most of that to get stuff for my daughter :) So it's like free money. I spend on average 2-3 hours on swagbucks a day, not all at once, a few minutes here and there through out the day. I love seeing my points go up and getting gift cards.
If you haven't seen swagbucks, check it out. I am very skeptical with stuff like this, but I've not had any problems with swagbucks and am very excited to keep collecting points to get more stuff for my daughters. :)
