Are you ready for valentine's day? I can hardly believe it's almost here... Are you making special plans? Usually my honey and I celebrate a day or two before the 14th. It's just way too crazy out there on the 14th, we'd rather go out earlier. :) Where have you gone for valentine's day celebrations? What was your favorite memory? My favorite was the first year my hubby and I were married. He prepared a picnic and took me to my favorite place and we had a picnic, followed by a horse carriage ride. :) My other favorite was 2 years ago when we went to Maggiano's, I LOVE that place! Then we walked around the mall... Last year was also great b/c it was our first year with our daughter. All 3 of us went to my hubby's family's Italian Restaurant and had a great time. My daughter was only 3 months old and slept the whole time. :) I am not sure what we're doing this year, but I know it'll be great. We like to keep it simple, and we always have a good time...

Guess what I got!?

Have you ever seen those tiles that you can buy that comes with a saying or with your family name?! I wanted to buy a tile, the cheapest I could find was 12x6, and after S&H and the easel, the total would have come to $45. Now, I am all about saving money, I did not want to pay all that. So I went on my trusty etsy site and set out a search to find a more affordable tile. I wanted it with my last name for my newly remodeled dining room. I went on a search and found something I fell in love with!
For $7, plus $2.50 in S&H I got the vinyl letters and I could put it anywhere I wanted! I ordered it from vinylexpress. Then my dad, being a contractor, had a 12x12 tile he gave me. For FREE!!!! And then I went to Hobby Lobby and bought an easel for the tile to stand on, and spent $3.50 because it was on sale that week for 50% off. SO the tile I originally wanted was $45, with a little creativity, I spent $13 and got something I LOVE. It looks amazing in my dining room! The room is not done yet, but it's almost there. As soon as I get it to how I want it, I'll take pictures! :) Go visit vinylexpress, it's a great shop and you can come up with a bunch of cute ideas for your house! :)

More redecorating!

Today, my dad came over and painted my dining room wall and he and I painted my kitchen cabinets. The cabinets took forever! :) Oh and for those of you who saw the mirror that was on the mantle that I took out, it's now in the dining room! Take a look!

New mantle

Well, I have lot of ideas for redecorating my house. I'm not doing anything major, just some minor things to change the look of some rooms... Today, I started with my living room. My mother in law came over and redid my mantle for me. I love it!!!
There are still some things that I will change in the living room, but not changing much...

New Year and whatnot...

Ok, so we are one day into the new year, and believe it or not, I actually had to ask someone what day today was. lol She thought it was quiet funny that I did not know the date. lol
This week I had a little shopping party, bought some new ribbons so there will be some new bows coming shortly! Valentine's day will be here before we know it, so I am coming up with all sorts of ideas for some cute bows. I also have some plans for some new items in the store, but I'll keep that a secret for right now. :) Keep your eyes open! I am hoping to have some new listing within the next week or so!
One of my new year's resolution is to be more creative, so I will be testing some new stuff in the shop! :) Bear with me... It could mean great things. It also means that my house is getting a total makeover.. I have so many great ideas, and they're all going to be taking effect starting tomorrow! :) My poor hubby is going crazy w/ all my ideas. I'm doing some minor cosmetic things to all the rooms in the house, with the exception of the bedrooms... My daughter's nursery is perfect, and my room is a disaster.. It'll have to wait. lol The office, well, it remains untouched, mainly b/c I am at a loss on what to do.. My brain is going 1000 MPH with ideas, it's hard to keep up. lol

For now, I'll be going to bed, dreaming of ribbons and bows, like I always do...
