This has been a long and busy week and I am SO glad it's OVER! Next week is shaping out to be just as busy with more doctor appts for me and baby girl.
This week started with the first step towards me becoming an American citizen. I'm so excited and have started to study for my test. The questions for the test are SO easy. lol Or maybe it's just b/c I've aways loved American History :)
This week also brought some exciting news, baby girl started to walk :) She giggles herself silly when she walks and it's the cutest!
SO last week I broke out the sewing machine and made some new dresses. Now, if you know me, you know that I am scared of my machine, it's brand new and has all these buttons, so I sew w/ my manual next to me. lol It overwhelms me. AND I have NEVER tried a new pattern on my own. I always have my more experienced friends show me how to do it.
Last week, I found a tutorial I loved, and read it probably about 30 times (no joke) and then decided I could do it. I had everything I needed at home. SO here's the product:
We are now starting our 3rd week of homeschooling. I will be honest, it's getting a little harder to be motivated.. lol But baby girl makes sure to stay on track, she loves doing school.
We are using sonlight PreK curriculum. I try to do some arts and crafts with her at least 3 times a week. She LOVES to color and draw.
I will be honest, I just now gave her scissors. I have been terrified of giving her scissors b/c of horror stories of friends children cutting their own hair. lol But she knows it's only for paper and has been doing pretty well.
more counting
We made a little bear to go w/ a story we read
On a different day we read about the platypus... Then we made a platypus puppet :)
The other day my daughter and I played a round of Candyland. She totally beat me. :) I loved watching her play, it's amazing how quickly she learned the game and it's so cute to watch her count the spaces and colors. :)
Last week my beautiful girl started ballet. She goes once a week, and wishes she could go everyday. lol She LOVED it! We debated for a long time if we would be able to put her in ballet this year b/c it's an added expense. Daddy said he'd find a way to pay and I'm SO thankful. Seeing her smile after her first lesson was all the confirmation I needed :)
Isn't she just so precious!?
Posing for mommy :) And showing off her ballerina bow.
I have curly/wavy hair that I usually straighten. It takes at LEAST 1 hour to do it. Usually longer b/c I have super long and thick hair.
My oldest loves to have her hair straightened. So sometimes she sits there and lets me play w/ her hair. I love it! Her hair is thinner than mine, it's not flat straight, it's got some wave to it, but nothing unmanageable like mine. :)
Here's her hair after I straightened it. It's SO pretty!
This week we started Pre-k4. We will be homeschooling, and so far big sis and I are LOVING it! We bought the curriculum about 4-5 weeks ago. The curriculum (sonlight) includes math, science, lots of reading and more. I supplement with arts and crafts and handwriting.
First day of school I had this set up. Daddy decorated our board. Our books for the week are on the table along with her name plate and binder. I blurred her name :)
My little student is so excited for her first day of school! I took her to Target and she picked out her school outfit :)
Working on her math book- Matching
We usually work on the dining room table. But this day I was feeling sick so we worked on coffee table and couch. :)
We learn in Pj's sometimes :) And in Science we're learning about winter/snow. So we made a snowman. I loved this idea to use a waterbottle and she's still carrying her snowman around. That day we also watched Frosty the Snowman so she could see how "real" snowman is made :)
I'd say our first week was a success. She's learned a lot and I'm so thankful to get the opportunity to be her teacher. :)
Last week we spent the week in Orlando for a family vacation. It was so nice to getaway. I got a stomach bug and slept for 2 straight days. After that it was hard to get around, but I managed to enjoy the rest of our trip.
Something I really enjoy from our trips, is all the pictures to go through. I LOVE taking pictures, especially of my family...
So these are my favorite ones from the week:
My 3 loves at the aquarium
I sat down to rest my legs and tummy, and there were bees all over the flower beds. I LOVED getting to take their pictures :)
I played with the black and white setting of my camera for a few shots
Welcome to BOWquet!
I am a stay at home mom of a very cute little girl. I quit my job after I had her so that I could be home with her and have no regrets! I love this job! I started making bows shortly before she was born, because I knew I'd want her to have lots of bows. Then I was making so many and having so much fun, I decided to open up a shop on etsy and sell my bows. I love dressing up little girls and love bows! I believe every little girl should wear a bow "Because not every princess wears a crown!"
Every bow is handmade and uniquely designed to look different than anyone else's...
Every little girl needs a bow to match that perfect outfit!
