Gobble gobble

About 2-3 weeks ago I couldn't sleep.  I started thinking of ways I can make a dress for the girls.  I knew I wanted to make a "turkey" dress, and laid wide awake mentally "drawing" this dress.  It came out just like I pictured it :)
They wore it on Sunday and it was a big hit! They'll be wearing it again on thanksgiving :)

Mommy's girls...

I love shopping.  Some of my best memories with my mom and sister is our shopping trips.  We'd spend hours at the mall browsing and buying stuff.  Now I get to do that with my girls.  Going out with my oldest is getting super fun as she gets older.  The baby is still a bit too young to enjoy shopping trips. :)
Yesterday I took big sis for some mommy/daughter time.  We went to several different stores in search of boots for baby sis and then we went to Joann's for some fabric.  I'll be working on a new dress for the girls this week!
Mommy and big sis waiting in line to get our fabric cut.
All the fabric we'll need for some cute dresses!
This little one cracks me up! She LOVES jewelry.  She saw her necklace on the shelf and kept mumbling something and pointing to the point of freaking out!  I realized what she wanted, put it on her and she was as happy as a clam. :)

Yummy Bananas

I had some overripe bananas left here that I was saving for banana bread.  But I have never been able to make a good banana bread. lol So last night I asked some friends on fb for a recipe and a friend posted some pinterest recipes.  I found this one for Bondas.  I call them banana bites. :)
All you need is sugar, flour, overripe bananas, soda powder and oil.  I added a sprinkle of cinnamon and some vanilla.  I think it would be amazing if sprinkled powdered sugar on it, but I didn't have any at home.

It was super quick to make and it's SO good!!!
Mix 2 1/2 overripe bananas with 1 cup flour, 1/4 cup sugar, 2 pinches soda powder, 1-2 pinches of cinnamon and 1-2 drops of vanilla.  Let it sit for 30 minutes, then drop in a wok with oil to fry it.2 pinches soda powder

 All done and SO yummy!

pinterest inspired

Pinterest has become my "go to" place.  Anytime I want an idea for house decor or crafts, that's where I spend HOURS looking :)
I owe a lot of my fall decor to pinterest... I love it!

I saw this project on pinterest, it's just beans and lentils.  I found most of what I needed at target, each vase took 1-2 bags, each bag around $1.  The yellow split peas were HARD to find, and I didn't find them until recently, by accident, at wal mart.
I put this on one side of my mantel.

I fell in LOVE with this when I saw it on pinterest.  Everything was bought at the $1 store.  Upside down wine glasses with little gourds inside.  Then a candle on top.  I added pizzazz with ribbon and feathers :)  This is also on my mantel.
My mother in law found this pinecone garland project in a home goods or something magazine.  I thought it looked amazing on my mantel. :)  I bought the "autumn" sign 50% off at Joann's, and the wicker pumpkins from Target.  This is my favorite mantel decoration I've ever done :)  I LOVE fall!

I looked up some crafting projects to do with my daughter and found this cute little turkey. I had everything at home.  She thought it was hilarious.  I have a TON of fall projects pinned that I can't wait to do with her!

If you haven't joined pinterest, you should! It's amazing for cleaning tips, organizing ideas, recipes, crafts, sewing and SO much more!!!!!

birthday party crafts

I had SO much fun planning my baby's 4th birthday.  She requested a halloween party, so I happily obliged.

Here is the table set up with the food, cupcakes and lots of candy.  My wonderful friend made my banner for me and I loved it!

I wrapped up tootsie roll pops and put them in this clay pot.  I bought the clay pot at Joann's, spray painted it white and painted the eyes and mouth. :)

We had some games to entertain the kids.  This is ghost bowling.  SUPER easy to make.  I bought the TP at the $1 store.  The used black paint to paint eyes and a mouth.  Stack them up, use a pumpkin to bowl :)

I borrowed these wine glasses from my sister, from $1 store.  My friend used her cricut and cut our some spiders and the #4.  I taped it to the glass.  I wrapped ribbon and black feather to the bottom of the glass.

Bean bag toss!  I made 2 bean bags look like ghost.  All I did was cut out white fabric, put beans inside, painted the eyes and mouth.  Voila.  Hubby painted the candycorn for me on a cardboard box.
My hubby playing the bean bag toss game.  Next to it is the ring toss game.  I did not make that one, my sweet mil did.  I know she used posterboard and party hats that she painted black to make it look like witches hat.  Other than that, I have no idea how it was made. lol

Girlie day

I LOVE to shop :)  And my oldest loves it also.  We had a great day, we went shopping, got some good deals.  Daddy is working late today, so I am sitting here finishing a movie with my girls before bedtime. Side note, this past weekend was my baby's 4th birthday.  We got her Cinderella and Tinkerbell secret of wings.  Today at Target we got Monsters Vs. Aliens for $5! For our viewing pleasure, she chose the alien movie instead of the girly movies. lol

I absolutely LOVE the new shopping carts at our target.  Baby sis was over shopping at this point. lol

I LOVE anything zebra print and fell in love with these shoes.. Sadly I didn't get them, I was spending too much money already :(

Big sis LOVES peacocks.  She got a duplicate birthday gift, so when I returned it, all she wanted was a peacock littlest pet shop. lol  I happily obliged.
After dinner we took baths, then I painted the girls toesies.  I love girly nights with my girls. :)

This Santa print comes in an 8x10 and 11x14.
Check it out here.

4 blessed years!

Tomorrow is my baby's 4th birthday.  So hard to believe.  It's been so amazing to watch her grow up and become such an awesome little girl.  She's so full of life and energy!  She loves animals, specially birds.  her favorite is the peacock.  She loves legos, littlest pet shops, dollhouse, she LOVES to draw and paint.  She loves learning new things, she really enjoys school.  She is so sweet and fun and I'm so thankful to be her mom.

The moment we became parents, it was one of the most wonderful feelings in the world. :) I'm so thankful God blessed me with this beautiful little girl!

Peacocks

I found a pattern for a peacock costume online and used it to make my girls costumes! :)  I loved how they came out :)

The supplies- I bought 4 different color tulle.  Blue, green teal, brown.
Then the same color felt.

Cut out the felt to make it look like feathers

I sewed the green to the brown to and the stitches makes it look like a feather.  Each tutu has 9 of these. Once this is done, you hot glue the dark blue "eye" to the lighter blue.  Then hot glue that to the green.

Starting to put the tulle on the headband (I used a crochet headband for the waist).  I used brown for the front with some teal accents.
The tutu- almost done!  The back is longer than the front, with the green, blue, teal.  I found a sparkly blue tulle I had at home and added some strands of that to the back.
When you finish the feather, measure ribbon to the length of the tulle in the back, hot glue the feathers to the ribbon.  I did 3 strands, with 3,4,3 feather.  The tie the ribbon to the back of the tutu.  ALL DONE!!!!!
Here we are on halloween.  2 peacocks- I also made a matching headpiece :)  And we are birdwatchers.

 The back :)
