Monday - Etsy finds

I LOVE to shop! And I LOVE etsy, so perfect combo :)
I found this great shop that has awesome monogrammed items. My favorite is the pacifier clips. When we find out what we're having I want to get some pacifier clips. I never had any with my daughter and always wished I did. So this time, I want to be prepared. :)

Aren't these so cute? She has tons of different color ones. :)

Don't forget to check out C & C originals for more items!

16 weeks pondering

Wow I can't believe this past week we hit the 16 week mark. This pregnancy is going by SO much faster than my first. It seems like just yesterday we found out. This time it took us a lot longer to get pregnant than the first. The first pregnancy happened the first month we tried. lol this one took 6 months, and it was really hard not to get frustrated, but I knew it would happen in God's timing. The month I finally accepted that God may not have a baby in store for us anytime soon, I got pregnant. lol Now, after 6 months of trying, I always knew that I wasn't pregnant.

When December rolled around, I kept hoping I'd be pregnant b/c it'd be a fun Christmas "gift" to give our family. I imagined telling everyone about our new addition as we opened gifts... But deep down, I "knew" it wouldn't happen, so I didn't get my hopes up. That time of the month came, and I was extremely emotional and hormonal, like always. But several days went by and nothing. Now I "knew" I was not pregnant, but I needed proof, so I took a pregnancy test. I had my proof, the test was negative. But I was still late, and getting annoyed b/c I just wanted a new cycle to start so we could try again... Alas, a week went by. My husband kept telling me to take another test. I kept saying no, it was a waste of money b/c I KNEW that I was not pregnant. So on a Thursday morning, I decided to take a test, because I wanted to prove my husband wrong. And as it turned out, I was wrong. Ha! When I saw those 2 little lines I was in SHOCK! I couldn't believe it. I ran out of the bathroom and showed my husband, his response "I told you". We hugged and told our daughter that she'd be a big sister. :) Now, we found out Dec 9th, I then told my husband that we would not tell anyone until Christmas, now we are horrible secret keepers. lol I had to wait 2 more weeks to see my doctor and still I did not believe I was pregnant until I saw that little heartbeat. :)

As it turns out, we were able to keep the secret, even though my daughter ratted us out to both my parents. Thankfully she's only 2 and is still learning to talk, so they couldn't really understand her, even though I knew what she was saying. lol So when my parents asked what she said, I lied and said I had no idea. lol We gave both our moms a framed ultrasound picture for Christmas. My parents were so excited!! My twin sister grabbed me and sobbed. It was a very exciting day.

So now, here we are at 16 weeks, waiting 2 more weeks to find out if it's a baby brother or sister. According to our toddler,it's a baby sister. For whatever reason, she refuses to accept that it could be a brother. lol I keep telling her, we'll see....

Sick day

For the past 4 months or so my 2 year old daughter has been fighting a cold on and off. It's been very annoying b/c anytime she gets better, she gets sick again. The joys of church nursery on Sundays.. lol This is the most sick she's been in her short 2 years. A few months ago we had to buy a thermometer for her, we had never needed one before. At that point she had low grade fevers.

For the past week or so she's been very snotty w/ a bit of a cough. There's not much to do as far as cold medicine goes for a cold. We've been doing what we can to help her get over it, but all the kids in our church seem to keep sharing their cooties... Yesterday afternoon, I noticed that she was a bit lethargic. I touched her and she was very warm, took her temp, 99 something. We monitored her the rest of the night, by the time she went to bed she was miserable, and her temp was at 100. Within a few hours she was at 102. I was so worried and hated how sick she was. Her face was RED and she was so hot! I just wanted to kiss her and hold her all night. We gave her some motrin, which she threw up, when she woke up this morning she was back at 100. She's more like herself today, but still has a temp of 100. And has no appetite. I hate seeing her like this. I am so thankful that I can be at home with her and take care of her.

New decor

I am so excited today! Why? There is a wall in my daughter's room that has been completely empty for her 2 years in there. lol I've left it that way b/c daddy wanted to do a painting for her room. Well, we couldn't decide what he'd paint. Mainly b/c we wanted different things. He has recently opened his own etsy shop where he sells kids prints. It is easy for him to paint the "boy" bedroom paintings, being that he's a boy. lol And now he has an easier time w/ "girl" bedroom paintings because of our daughter. :) SO with that said, we got 2 11x14 paintings for her room from his shop, bought beautiful frames today and hung them. It looks SO great in her room :) One of the exciting parts is that we got the frames at a great sale price at Michaels.
What do you guys think?

One of them is the little girl having a tea party, the other is the little girl pretending to be a princess. She loves having them in her room! Check out his shop for these and more prints! :)

TGIF/ cleaning

I love Fridays!!! :) It means that hubby will be home and we'l have all weekend together :) And I'm so excited he has Monday off too, so we'll have a family day!

These past 2 days I've been busy! I'm catching up on 5 weeks of cleaning. Sigh I was on bedrest for about 2 weeks or so, then I've been struggling to get stuff done b/c I'm having such a hard time with this pregnancy. BUT we have people coming over on Sunday, so I HAVE to clean. lol At least the house is getting clean. I'm almost caught up with laundry. It's a miracle! I found my bedroom while doing laundry :) Amazing how much cleaner it looks. Now I have to move on to the rest of the house.
I love the smell of lysol as I mop the floors. :) It's my fave! And my new favorite supply is clorox wipes, makes cleaning so much easier. And I'm all about the pledge. I think dusting is my favorite chore. Am I weird? lol
What is your favorite cleaning supply???

Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day!!!!
My love surprised me with my favorite flowers, chocolate and my very own copies of his comic books. He has printed 2 of his books and never gave me my own. And I complained. lol So he signed both of them and now I have them to keep forever.

He also gave our daughter flowers. She LOVES flowers and was so excited. She carried it all over the house and loves having them in her rom. :)

I am sitting here looking at a calendar and am in awe that we are almost 1/2 through February. I'm very excited for March to be here b/c we'll find out what we're having. :)
But looking at the calendar I realized that Valentine's Day is almost here. I don't really care for that day, it's not that big deal for me. But it's nice to get chocolate and flowers. lol We have no plans to do anything, and we never go out on the 14th, we always go out another day. I'm thinking of just cooking a nice meal for us on Monday. Right now I'm thinking of getting Steaks and grilling them. Not sure what sides I'd cook, any suggestions??

Staying busy...

It's very hard to find time to be creative when I have a toddler to take care of. I don't like "working" when she's awake. She likes to get all over my ribbons and she has burned her hand more than once on my glue gun. Plus, I like to spend my days w/ her. So, my bow making time is after she goes to bed. :) I get all my stuff out on the couch, turn the TV on and spend hours working. Last night my creative juices were flowing and I came up w/ several different bows. :)

I love how this one turned out! It's made of green tulle and white feathers. It's not listed in my shop yet, but it's coming!

I am very proud of this one. As soon as I listed it, it sold. I'll be putting it back on my shop soon!

Another favorite :) Listed in my shop right now!

Show Us Your Life - What do you feed your kids?????

Kelly, from Kelly's Korner is doing Show us Your Life, what do you feed your kids?
I am so glad that I can read what other mom's are doing b/c feeding my 2 year old is difficult, she is very picky. We have very little variety going. I feel like she always eats the same things.
french toast
scrambled eggs w/ cheese

mac -n- cheese
grilled cheese sandwich
Peanut butter and jelly

usually she eats MOST of what I make, but NO meat. I usually try to cook stuff that I know she'll like. If I want her to eat meat and veggies, I'll hide it in a casserole dish like chicken pot pie or shepherds pie...Some things she loves:
casserole dishes

In addition to those meals I'll add a fruit, which she only eats bananas, mandarin orange, and grapes. She also eats yogurt and applesauce.

I think our worst meal is lunch, I never know what to feed her. She won't even eat chicken nuggets. Any suggestions? :)

6:45 am

First off, I want to start this post by saying I HATE alarm clocks!!!!!

Ok, so my husband's alarm clocks (he has 2) go off at 6:45 every morning. I dread it. He has 2 alarms going off, and presses snooze about 5 times or so. He really doesn't get out of bed until 7:30. I find it to be extremely irritating! For those 45 minutes or so, my sleep is disturbed, and I am not a happy camper. You see, if you disturb my sleep, I will turn into the hulk...
Alas, that's not the main point of this post.

For the past 10 days or so, I've been waking around 6:30-40 every day. It never fails! I hate it. By the time I get to bed, hubby's alarms are going off and going back to sleep is almost impossible. Now, there are 2 reasons why I wake up every morning at that time. #1, potty break. I keep hoping I'll wake up earlier, but for whatever reason I don't. #2, my toddler has been waking up at the same time EVERY morning asking me for her binky. It's really been driving me crazy. For whatever reason at that time she requires her binky. So I get up for 2 reasons. It's extremely aggravating for someone who loves sleep. I really don't get why she's been waking up at that time every morning, but I wish it'd stop..

I really hate 6:45 am, I despise alarm clocks! Maybe if I went to bed before 1 am I wouldn't be in such a foul mood every morning. lol

Nightmares, exhaustion, baby...

Today has been an exhausting day. I did not get a lot of sleep last night b/c my toddler keeps waking up w/ nightmares. She woke up about 6 times in 6 hours.. It was very hard to get out of bed this morning. BUT I had an early doctor's appt, so I had to get up. I am not a morning person, and I do not like to be disturbed in my sleep. I get really mean and angry, worse than the Hulk. lol Alas, I went to my doctor's appt, which thankfully took less than 1 hour, as opposed to the 2+ it had been taking (the morning appt's are much quicker). It was pretty funny b/c my doctor could NOT track down the baby to listen to the heartbeat, after several tries he looks at me and says "I give up, let's just do an ultrasound". To which I said, "of course!" Now, at almost 13 weeks, I've had 5 ultrasounds :) No complaints here! I love seeing my baby grow. So I got to see the baby, who is VERY active, and saw the heartbeat. I asked the doctor to check in b/t it's legs so we could see what it was, but he said it's too soon :/ I am just dying to know!!! But we'll find out in 5 weeks, it'll be here soon!

I wish I could stop my daughter's nightmares. I HATE having to wake up so often through the night.. But I will do what I have to to console her. I just feel bad that she is going through this.
